Blake Garden is a botanical garden that serves as a teaching facility for the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning of the UCB and is the site of the official residence of the UC President.

The garden includes over 1200 plant species laid out within a formal garden with reflecting pool, water garden, grotto, two-sided staircase, arboretum and views of the bay.

Annual meeting, West Contra Costa LWV. The business meeting will begin at 11:30. Following reports on the year's activities, officers for the coming term will be elected. During lunch Claire Greensfelder will speak on, "My Experience at the Copenhagen Climate Summit". Reservation forms have already been sent out, but if you have not registered, you may purchase lunch at the restaurant.

Claire Greensfelder is a longtime environmental, peace and justice activist who is currently working as a consultant to Land Is Life, an international NGO. Until this year she was Deputy Director for Communications, Development and Special Projects for the International Forum on Globalization. Greensfelder has been active in local, state and national electoral campaigns since her days in high school in Oakland, California. Since graduating from UC Berkeley in 1975, she has worked for phasing out nuclear power and weapons and for promoting renewables, energy efficiency, conservation and nonviolent resolution to conflict. She has worked as a staff member or consultant with over three dozen non-governmental organizations, including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth International, The Sierra Club and the American Friends Service Committee. As an occasional radio and print journalist, she has contributed to programs at KPFA and was the managing editor of the the East Bay Voice.
